Working with WordPress appears daunting at first. There are tons of features that you can use, but when you're getting started...well, it's overwhelming. We're going to try to go slowly.

WordPress Overview

WordPress has a series of tutorials that explain how the blog system works. There's no easy, soft way to learn how these systems work. You just have to dive in. Here are the tutorials:

• Working With WordPress: an overview guide, with links, for all the features on WordPress.

Creating + Writing Text

• Writing Posts: an overview of how to publish a post on your blog. It's quick + easy.
• Writing Pages: an overview of how to create and publish pages on your website.

Administering Your Blog

You'll have to keep up with activity on your blog, approving comments, responding to people, adding features. Blog administration takes some time early on...however you determine how much activity you want on the site.

• Administering Your Blog: a brief overview of what tasks you should be aware of and where you can find thoes tools within WordPress.

Adding Features + Themes

Throughout this semester, you'll be adding features and changing the look of the site.

• Managing Plugins
• Managing Themes
